GUEST TEACHERS:

 Vincent Hantam (Scotland): Vincent Hantam received his initial training in South Africa before winning a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School.  From there he joined the Scottish Ballet. During his time with Scottish Ballet, Mr Hantam also made guest appearances with companies both nationally and internationally, including the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company, Hong Kong Ballet Company, London City Ballet, Northern Ballet . He is now a sought after teacher and has taught at many companies, schools and universities including recently, The Royal New Zealand School of Dance and The Royal New Zealand Dance Company as well as English National Ballet School.

 Kara Chan (New York): Kara received her pre-professional training from Pro Arte Centre under the direction of Astrid Sherman, where she received provincial titles and top awards at Youth America Grand Prix. She went on to complete her BFA in Dance at The Juilliard School in New York. She has danced professionally with the Mark Morris Dance Group and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.  She has performed masterpiece works by Merce Cunningham, Jerome Robbins, Murray Louis, José Limon, among many others. Kara is an alumna of The School at Jacob’s Pillow and Springboard Danse Montreal.

Mark Dennis(Ballet Kelowna):  A graduate of the  National Ballet School, recipient of the 2006 Canada Council for the Arts Peter Dwyer Scholarship and Prix de Lausanne finalist,  Mr. Dennis danced with the  National Ballet, Alberta Ballet,The West Australian Ballet and Northern Ballet. Mr. Dennis has had the opportunity to work with established choreographers Marcia Haydee, Jiri Kylian, John Neumeier and James Kudelka as well as dance works by Uwe Scholz, Petr Zuska, George Balanchine. Mr. Dennis joined Ballet Kelowna in October 2014 and has had the opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers John Alleyn, Heather Myers, Shawn Hounsell and Gabrielle Lamb under the direction of Simone Orlando.
